Compulsory acquisition also known as eminent domain is a right/power or authority given to an entity, mostly the government of a country to compulsorily acquire tracts of land for public interest and public purposes for the benefit of the public. This exclusive right is mostly backed by laws of that country and these laws also make provision for fair, adequate and prompt compensation to the expropriated.

Successful completion of consultative processes towards the drafting of a new Land Act including a national land forum, ten (10) regional land forums and two (2) district ones completed
Phase one (Southern Sector of Ghana) of a national geodetic framework recomputed and adjusted to improve surveying
Three (3) new Land registries in Bolga, Wa and Ho inaugurated to decentralize Land Administration in the country resulting in a reduction in turn around time for processing of land documents to less than two months
Inventory of state owned and occupied lands undertaken in ten (10) pilot districts in four regions completed
Spatial capture of 1,790 parcels with or without buildings captured in Kyebi and spatial data of farmlands in parts Wassa Amenfi completed
Pilot demarcation of allodial boundary commenced at Ejisu
Two satellite offices for systematic Land titling completed
Website to publicize the activities of LAP and the Land sector agencies launched
Increase in revenues to local and central government from land transactions
Launching of community based land use planning commenced and pilot areas identified
Approval given by Attorney General for laying of News Lands Commission Bill Before Parliament
