8.2.7 Points
Level of expertise required for this Chapter: Intermediate; specifically for LUPMIS @ TCPD
a) Point(s)
If you have the UTM x / y coordinates of 1 or more points (upto 4), you can enter them here and they will be transferred to UTM.
In the standard setting, Map Maker only allows direct entry of latitude / longitude values.
If you have multiple points in a table or points in UTM 30 or UTM 31, you better use the 'Unit conversion' Drawing Tool (see Chapter 8.2.10).
b) Centre of 2 Points
If you have 2 points and you want to know the exact centre point between these 2 points, use this tool.
c) Centre of 3 Points
If you have 3 points and you want to know the exact centre point between these 3 points (like the centre of a triangle), use this tool.
d) Centre of 4 Points
If you have 4 points and you want to know the exact centre point between these 4 points, use this tool. It uses the average of all these 4 points in x and in y direction.
e) Import List of Points
You can import points, which are listed in a table (e.g. Excel table in CSV format). You can also add id and/or display labels and/or styles, if you have them in your spreadsheet and want to transfer them to your GIS.
A training video shows the procedure (in YouTube).
