Level of expertise required for this Chapter: Expert; general Map Maker training

Most important is frequent backup of your data !

After any significant data entry, make a backup:
Backup/restore > Backup all databases.

  • If your data are lost or corrupted or can not be accessed anymore, you can restore from earlier backup files: Backup/restore > Restore database > Select the database, which is lost/corrupt > Select the latest version

If this appears also to be corrupt, repeat this process with an backup file.

  • If you forgot your LUPMIS user password, ask your local administrator and let him give you a new user account (or password). He can do so by logging in as administrator > Register > List registered staff > Delete users

  • If you forgot your LUPMIS user password as administrator, you have to send your entire databases to TCPD-GIS-HQ, where a new administrator user account will be created and sent back to you: Check that you have a zip compression utility installed in your computer (7-zip comes with the LUPMIS installation, in folder \LUPMIS\LUPMISPrograms\GISUtilities) > In Windows Explorer, go to folder C:\xampp\mysql > Compress the entire folder data into one single zip file > Send this file to HQ > After being returned from HQ with a new administrator password: Unzip it > Copy it to the original location C:\xampp\mysql

  • If you try to connect to your GPS, but have following screen:

check the cable connection to your GPS and to which drive (letter) the GPS is connected to. Re-connect, and re-load.

  • If you can not log and receive following message on the left side of the screen:

you have to run Map Maker prior loading LUPMIS. Check, and start Map Maker.

  • If you can not log in (for example after installation) and receive following message:

the first step of the installation (Apache, MySQL) was not successful. Uninstall, delete folder xampp, check that no services are running, and repeat the entire installation:
